Hypnosis Direct have received some impressive publicity in the past as they have been featured in an article about hypnosis MP3s and CDs on The Guardian website – a well respected British newspaper.

The MP3s themselves are offered at the very reasonable price of $12.95. Coupled with the buy two get one free deal that Hypnosis Direct are currently running and you can get a number of MP3s for very little money.

There are however a couple of areas of concern I have regarding Hypnosis Direct.

First of all there is no information I can find on the website about the hypnotherapist that records the session. From the MP3 I have listened to they are male and sound as if they come from London, but I don’t know if this is the case for every session on the site. It raises the question of it the person behind Hypnosis Direct is a qualified hypnotherapist at all.

Secondly while Hypnosis Direct does offer a 90 day money back guarantee it is not easy to get a refund. To get a refund from HypnosisDirect.com you have to print off a refund sheet which requires quite a few details to be written in, and then fax it back to them. Many people do not have immediate access to a fax machine so I’m sure this is troublesome. Most other hypnosis download sites simply deal with refunds via email.

I have also heard (although I am unable to confirm this) that Hypnosis Direct uses the same hypnotic induction on every MP3. This shows a lack of originality and some laziness on the hypnotherapists part if true. While many hypnosis download sites will use the same induction on two or three sessions they don’t do so on every session they produce.

All in all I would say that there are much better options than Hypnosis Direct out there for hypnosis MP3s.

Richard MacKenzie is a well known hypnotherapist thanks to his best-selling book Self-Change Hypnosis, a book that takes a unique look at self hypnosis. Because of Self-Change Hypnosis Richard has become a well respected hypnotherapist and his products are regarded as highly effective. These facts have combined to make Richard MacKenzie Direct one of the most trusted hypnosis download websites on the internet.

The website is relatively easy to navigate with a navigation bar at the top of the page as well as a download table in the middle of the home page. The design is nice and clean and doesn’t feel cluttered in the way some similar sites such as HypnoShop does. This means it is easy to find the hypnosis download you want to buy.

However there are a couple of drawbacks to Richard MacKenzie Direct. First of all is the lack of choice. It may be that Richard MacKenzie feels less cluttered simply because it offers less sessions than most other hypnosis download sites. With only 40 sessions to choose from you may be hard pressed to find exactly what you need. Also Richard MacKenzie Direct is one of the most expensive options for hypnosis MP3s. At the time this review is being written a MP3 will cost you $24.50 (down from $49.50). This is considerably more expensive than our top rated site HypnoBusters who charge only $9.95 for a MP3.

Unfortunately Richard MacKenzie also offers a shorter money back guarantee than other sites, with 56 days (8 weeks) to the tradition 90. This might mean that you can’t fully tell if the hypnosis download you have purchased has had the required effect before the guarantee is up.

The products themselves are top notch though with a crisp recording quality and the soothing Oxford accent of Richard MacKenzie. While the MP3s may be more expensive they are worth the money.

The majority of the hypnosis downloads have been recorded by Barrie St. John with Donna Lee joining HypnoShop in 2009. Barrie St. John speaks with a English midlands accent while Donna Lee has a slight New York accent.

The website itself isn’t bad but at times it feels a little too cluttered. It is a case of information overload and when you are presented with so much text it is hard to take any of it in. MP3s from HypnoShop cost £8.99 and CDs are £11.99 (unfortunately no currency calculator is offered like on HypnoBusters) which is more expensive than most other hypnosis download sites.

The hypnosis MP3s themselves are good and they include some impressive stereo effects. I would say though that in the sessions I listened to I felt there was too much pre-talk. Pre-talk is where the hypnotherapist describes the methods and goals of the session. Having bought the session I felt like I already knew why I had bought it and did not need to waste five minutes being told this. Besides this though I had no complaints.

HypnoShop offer over 100 hypnosis MP3s and CDs and still occasionally add new sessions to their site. There are a number of different categories of downloads on offer including addictions, health, confidence, personal development and relationships. Having been online since 1995 HypnosisDownloads.com is well respected for the quality of their sessions and has built up a great deal of trust with customers during that time. Email correspondence is usually answered quickly, and help is offered if you require it.

On drawback to having so many hypnosis downloads on the site is that it tends to look cluttered and can be a little difficult to navigate.
